KDL Firewood Supply is two mates from Endeavour Hills who got fed up with seeing green wood sold as seasoned. We do it the way we'd want it done for our own homes.
Lucas and Kyle
KDL was started in late 2025 by Lucas and Kyle — two Endeavour Hills locals who've both seen enough bad quality firewood to know the industry needs a kick in the pants.
Kyle had run a business before and had been around firewood for years, so he knew what good stock looks like and what to avoid. He brought Lucas in to learn the ropes and figure out how to run a business properly — and KDL was the project they built together.
We started small — a single truck, a small yard, a phone number we'd answer at any hour. The plan was simple: sell only wood we'd burn in our own fireplaces, charge a fair price, and never lie about what we're putting on the back of the truck.
We've all bought bad wood at least once.
You pay decent money. You get a load that hisses in the fireplace, smokes the house out, and only really starts to burn properly halfway through July when it's finally dried out.
The industry runs on it. Green wood goes out as seasoned. Mixed types get labelled redgum. Loads turn up short. We were done watching it happen — so we built KDL to do the opposite of every shortcut.
What we won't compromise on
These are the rules we hold ourselves to on every load.
Moisture tested every load
Every load gets a moisture meter check before it leaves the yard. If it's not under 12%, it doesn't go out. Most of our stock sits between 6 and 11%.
Stored under tarps, year-round
Our stock lives under tarps from arrival to delivery. Rain on the pile means hissing in your fireplace — we don't ship that.
Honest about the wood
Redgum is redgum. Red box is red box. Mix is half-and-half. We don't relabel cheap timber as premium hardwood to make a margin.
Sourced Australia-wide
We don't take whatever's cheap and local — we go where the quality stock is, even if that means trucking it in from further out.
Quality stock, every load.
We've never had a complaint about a load, and we plan to keep it that way. Every order goes out the same way — moisture tested, dry, and the wood we said it would be. That's the whole standard.
